ABSTRACT: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 interlinked goals designed to be a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030. The SDGs were set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and have been adopted and implemented by many countries around the world, including Australia.

This presentation will cover the progress and status of the SDGs, taking into account the health and economic crises of 2020, as well as, the contribution of nuclear technology and innovation to the SDGs. In addition, the audience will learn how individuals, businesses, and organisations can contribute to the SDGs. 

Lenka Kollar is the co-founder of Helixos, a collective of people working on projects that contribute towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals and continue to make the world a better place for everyone. Prior to co-founding Helixos, Ms. Kollar was the Director of Strategy & External Relations at NuScale Power where she worked to bring small modular reactors to market in the US and around the world. Ms. Kollar also previously worked for the International Atomic Energy Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. She has a BS and MS in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from INSEAD.
