ANA 2019 Award to Dr Margaret Elcombe

The ANA Award for 2019 recognises the outstanding contribution of Dr Margaret Elcombe to nuclear science and technology in Australia by her very long term scientific contribution to neutron scattering and X-ray analysis at AAEC/ANSTO.  

Since joining AAEC as a neutron beam scientist in 1967, Margaret has been central to the development and use of neutron scattering instrumentation and X-ray techniques on HIFAR and OPAL.  She supported and guided very many AINSE students and post-docs in their research and has an impressive list of publications. Her efforts on neutron scattering using HIFAR beams provided the basis for the much expanded instrumentation on OPAL.

The ANA 2019 Award will be presented to Dr Margaret Elcombe at the ANA Annual lunch:

12.00 noon for 12.30 pm, Friday 6 December 2019.

ANA Members, partners and friends are invited to the ANA lunch for 2019. This event is a great opportunity to meet friends, discuss nuclear science and technology developments and congratulate Margaret Elcombe  on being awarded the ANA Award for 2019.

Club on East is a very short walk from the Sutherland train station. Car parking is available in the Club carpark on the ground floor of the Council commuter carpark at corner Robertson and Oxford Streets, Sutherland – entrance from Robertson Street. Press the button for reception and say you are attending the ANA lunch in the club.

Cost: $70 per person for a sit-down lunch with pre-lunch drinks and lunch drinks included. We have exclusive use of the dining room on the first floor and there is lift access from the ground floor.
