1. Australia 2020 Summit- The ANA made a submission to the Summit on Nuclear Power. The ANA was of the view that a case for a contribution from nuclear power to the well being of Australians in 2020 should be put.
2. Dr Hardy to chair the First Plenary Session of 16PBNC– The ANA congratulates our Secretary Dr Clarence Hardy who, as Chairman of the Pacific Nuclear Council, has been invited to chair the First Plenary Session of the 16th Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference. The 16PBNC is jointly hosted by the Atomic Energy Society of Japan and the Japan Atomic Industrial Industrial Forum and will be held in the northern Japanese city of Aomori 13-17 October 2008. 4. 15PBNC Statement on the effects of low doses- The biological effects of low levels of exposure to ionising radiation is a controversial subject. The approach taken by regulators of the nuclear industry and practitioners of radiation protection, on the one hand, is at odds with views and findings of many scientists who are working in this field. At the initiative of Dr Don Higson, experts at the 15PBNC took the opportunity of drafting a position statement on this topic. Read more
